Free mobile voicemail (666)

Free Mobile and B&YOU: access, customisation, importing audio files and Visual Voicemail

What is the Free Mobile voicemail service used for?

The Free Mobile voicemail service is enabled by default on all Free Mobile plans, including the €2 plan. It activates automatically when you do not answer, when your phone is switched off, or when you are out of range. Callers can leave a voicemail message, and you will be notified by text message or via the app.

What sets Free Mobile apart from the other major operators is the ability to import an audio file directly as a welcome message via the subscriber portal, without having to go through a voice server. This is a feature that neither Orange nor Bouygues offer as part of their consumer plans.

Importing an audio file onto your Free Mobile voicemail

✅ Free Mobile allows audio files to be imported as part of its consumer plan

It is the only major French consumer mobile service to offer this feature. Neither Orange (888), Bouygues (660) nor SFR allow this on their standard plans. Free Mobile allows users to upload a .wav file directly from the subscriber portal.

There are two important requirements to bear in mind: the file must be in the format .wav only (not MP3), do not exceed 2 MB and not to exceed 45 seconds. If it exceeds this limit, the file will be rejected.
