Orange Business Telephony

Connect Pro, Business Livebox, IPBX: changing your voicemail message to a professional recording

On which Orange plans can you import a voice message?

First and foremost: with Orange’s consumer plans (standard mobile subscription, voicemail accessible via 888), it is not possible to upload an audio file. You record your message by voice when you call 888.

With business plans, however, importing an audio file is not only possible, but it is also the neatest and most professional way to personalise your Orange voicemail. Here is the exact table.

Orange Connect Pro : importing audio files from the business customer portal
Business Livebox : upload .wav or .mp3 files via the Livebox web interface
Optimale Pro Office / Livebox Pro : import via the configuration interface
Telephone switchboard / IPBX on an Orange line (3CX, Mitel, RingOver, Aircall, etc.): file provided by the telecoms installer
Orange mobile for consumers (888, Sosh) : voice recording via the voice server only
Livebox for home users (3103) : voice recording only, no file import
Good to knowIf your Orange contract contains the words Pro, Business or Connect, you are in the category that allows you to import audio files.

Orange Connect Pro: customising your voicemail

Orange Connect Pro is the business telephony service that allows each line to have a personalised welcome message, which can be imported directly from the customer portal. Here’s how to do it.

Why is a recorded message not enough?

When you call the voice server to record a message, the result depends on the acoustics of the location, the quality of the telephone’s microphone, background noise and your own confidence when speaking. The result is often hesitant, too short or difficult to understand. Importing an audio file ensures that the result is identical every time you listen to it, with the quality you want.

Tutorial: Importing an audio file into Orange Connect Pro

1
Log in to your Connect Pro accountOn assistancepro.orange.fr using your Orange business login details.
2
Go to Line ManagementMain menu, then Line settings.
3
Select the line you wish to configureClick on ‘Configure’ next to the relevant row.
4
Access VoicemailClick on ‘Set up’, then ‘Voicemail’, then ‘Change your voicemail’.
5
Select ‘Personalised message’Under ‘Message type’, select the ‘Custom message’ option.
6
Upload your audio fileClick on ‘Choose an advert’, then ‘Import’. Select your MP3 or WAV file.
7
SaveThe change takes effect immediately. Callers will hear the new message from the very next call.

Manage messages for the whole team

Connect Pro allows you to manage all your lines from a single customer portal. Each employee can have their own message (away today, in a meeting, on holiday) with the same voice and the same high standard of quality. Ideal for ensuring consistent corporate communication.

Business Livebox: uploading your welcome message

The Business Livebox (and the Livebox Pro multi-line package) allows you to import an audio file directly via the Livebox web interface, without going through the voice server. The result sounds immediately more professional than an ad-hoc recording.

Tutorial: Importing an audio file onto Business Livebox

1
Log in to the web interface of your Business LiveboxUsing your browser, access the administration interface for your Livebox Pro.
2
Click on My settingsIn the main menu.
3
Select 'My voicemail'

5
Click on 'Browse'Select your audio file from your computer. Accepted formats: .wav or .mp3.
6
Click on 'Confirm'The file is uploaded to your Livebox straight away. Callers will hear the new message.

On-hold music on Business Livebox

The Business Livebox also allows you to replace the default on-hold music with a custom audio file. Go to your Livebox’s web interface > My Business Telephony > Customer Greeting Management > On-hold music. Supported formats: .g729 or .wav.

Telephone switchboard and IPBX on the Orange network

If your business has a telephone switchboard (IPBX) connected to Orange lines, the welcome message for your Orange voicemail is not managed via 888 or 3103. It is managed directly within your IPBX, in the form of an audio file uploaded by your telecoms installer.

How it works

1
Prepare your audio fileThe welcome message, hold music and voicemail messages are audio files in MP3, WAV, G.711, G.729 or G.722 format, depending on your system.
2
Please send the file to your telecoms installerBy email, USB stick or via a shared folder, as agreed with him.
3
The installer places the file on the IPBXIt configures the correct settings on your system: main reception, individual voicemail, on-hold music, IVR.
4
The message is activeImmediately after filing. No further action is required.

This process applies to all standard IP-PBX systems: 3CX, Mitel, RingOver, Aircall, Cisco, Avaya, and all IP telephony systems installed on Orange lines.

Create a professional voicemail message for your Orange voicemail

With Orange’s business plans (Connect Pro, Business Livebox, IPBX), importing audio files makes it possible to have a message of recording-studio quality, without the cost or the hassle.

The easiest way is to use Voconix, which generates an audio file ready for import in a matter of seconds: simply type in your text, choose a voice from those available in five languages, add music from a selection of over 10,000 tracks if you wish, and download the file in the format compatible with your Orange system.

The file is directly compatible with Orange Connect Pro (MP3 or WAV), Business Livebox (.wav or .mp3) and all professional IPBX systems on the Orange network. For IPBX systems, Voconix also offers the direct delivery to your fitter : your installer receives the file directly without you having to send them anything.
